What does SICURY mean? For additional safety, the SICURY products have a
patented mechanism that closes automatically when the plug is pulled
out and prevents accidental contact with live components. Interesting
tidbit -- the patent was filed by Vimar in 1968, but after it was
developed they soon decided to allow it to be used free of charge by
all competitors as safety was their primary concern.
What does BPRESA mean? In 1975, Vimar filed the first patent for a
multi-standard socket outlet. BPRESA was the result and is a universal
socket outlet that is able to accept plugs of different standards.
